BALL Watch USA Museum Tour Press Release and Event Calendar

Ball Watch USA is pleased to announce the continuation of the BALL WATCH MUSEUM TOUR featuring many historical documents and timepieces from Webb Ball’s personal collections. Ball Watch Company revolutionized portable timekeeping with manufacturing techniques and accuracy protocols still in use today. Many of Switzerland’s best known and most prestigious watch manufacturers came to study with Webb Ball, as their own research was incapable of matching the consistency and accuracy of Ball’s watches. To many an academe in the art of horology, BALL is the most significant watch brand in the history of modern timepieces. Webb Ball’s was instrumental in the development of the railroad protocols for timekeeping (those protocols led to the saving of thousands of lives, as before instituting these new regulations trains were crashing quite regularly due to variances in measurements of time). Ball’s impact on American society was so profound, the word “Ball” came to be used as a high compliment to a professional, as in, “That fellow over there, he’s really “on the Ball”.  Few brands of any product type have changed the language, much less have those linguistic contributions last for over 100 years, but “on the Ball” is still in use today, and is still a testimony for exceptional performance.

This touring museum will bring several of Webb Ball’s personal watches in addition to an exceptional collection of his early railroad watches. This will be a rare opportunity to observe the evolution of a technological marvel. While the watches are sure to be the “stars of the show”, there will also be a wonderful assortment of early advertising, programs from meetings of the “Ball Time Service” affiliates from across the country (come see if your jeweler was part of this history) and even some of the tools used to make these world changing artifacts.  For anyone interested in watches, this event will be eye opening and enjoyable. In addition to the historic presentation, Ball will be showcasing their new high-tech marvels, built with the same commitment to inheritable durability.
